Relative contraindications requiring medical consultation: tattoos in the treatment area (locally excluded), breastfeeding, epilepsy, hormonal disorders like PCOS (more sessions needed), known light allergy.

Absolute contraindications for HIFEM-based body contouring: cardiac pacemakers and implanted defibrillators (HIFEM generates strong electromagnetic field), metal implants in the treatment area (joint prostheses, screws, plates), pregnancy, epilepsy, active malignancies, acute inflammation or open wounds in the treatment area, severe skin conditions such as active eczema. Relative contraindications with medical consultation: diabetes (particularly with diabetic neuropathy), thyroid disorders, recent abdominal surgery (at least 8–12 weeks post-op), hormonal implants.

Absolute contraindications for HIFEM-based pelvic floor training: cardiac pacemakers and implanted defibrillators, metal implants in the pelvic area (hip prostheses, screws), pregnancy (also not in early weeks when unclear), active urinary tract infection, acute pelvic inflammation (PID, prostatitis), malignancies in the pelvic area, recent pelvic or abdominal surgery (minimum 6–12 weeks post-op, always with medical clearance). Relative contraindications: copper IUD (usually possible, brief medical consultation recommended), hormonal IUD (medical consultation required), benign tumors such as fibroids (size and location determinative), urinary incontinence of unclear origin (urological workup needed).

In any uncertainty (particularly with implants, hormonal conditions or recent surgery), treatment is only started after medical clearance.
